Last night cases of canned goods, gallons of honey, bags of chocolate chips, and a whole lot of chicken were organized and waiting. At 7 people started showing up - a group of friends, neighbors, daughters and sons, grandmas and sisters. Everyone was armed with their 5 ziplock bags and ready to prepare some freezer meals.
After some directions and prayer, everyone got busy filling their bags with meals for their families and some were making meals to give to friends. The room was full of noise, laughter and fun.
Even the kids who came along had fun. Moms and daughters worked together - check out those cute aprons!
We are so thankful for everyone who participated and made it a huge success. There were many helping hands with kids, taking garbage out and cleaning up at the end. It was good to spend time with friends and to meet and make new friends! Our prayer is that these meals would be a blessing to the families that were represented.
If you missed out on this evening, don't worry, we will be having another one after the New Year. You can like us Facebook so you don't miss any of the great things going on at Calvary.
